Inside a job: the record, updates and history

Open a job to see its fields and its conversation side by side — updates, visits, activity and equipment.

Click any job's title to open its record. On a desktop it's a two-pane view — the job's data on the left, its life on the right — so you can read the record and the conversation about it together. On mobile, the record becomes the first tab.
The Record pane
Everything about the job, editable in place:
  • Status — tap the pill to change it.
  • Client — tap to reassign (or set to No client).
  • Every custom field for the job's workstream — checkboxes tick inline, dropdowns and links open small menus, files show as chips you can open, add or remove, and text/number/date open a quick editor.
  • Scheduled and Team — read-only, because they're managed by published shifts in Schedule.
Every edit saves immediately and refreshes in place.
Status banners
Above the tabs, two banners keep compliance visible without blocking work:
  • Authorizations — pills for expired, expiring, active and awaiting permits on this job, plus a Request button (see Authorisations and permits).
  • Forms — when the job has submissions: submitted, failed, awaiting review counts.
The tabs
Updates — the job's conversation. Anyone managing jobs can comment; field staff with a published assignment on the job can add updates too, so site notes land in the record. Comments run to 2,000 characters; you can delete your own.
Visits — scheduled attendances on this job. Each shows the assignee, an acknowledgement pill (Confirmed / Declined / Draft / Awaiting) and, once the worker clocks in, their actual times. Add visit schedules a new attendance without leaving the job.
Activity — the automatic audit trail: created this job, changed status from Planned to Completed, added a comment, marked their assignment complete, and so on — who did what, when. Nothing here is editable; it's your evidence trail.
Equipment — attach kits to build the job's equipment manifest, rolled up with quantities.
Good to know
  • Job files (in file fields) open through short-lived secure links, and uploads follow the 10-file / 25 MB limits.
  • What field staff see of this record is decided by each field's Show to field staff switch — commercial detail stays in the office by default.
  • There's no @mention in job updates — use Chat to get someone's attention, and the job update to put facts on the record.
