Updates are your announcements — one message to many people, landing in every inbox. Post them under Communications → Updates (you need the Manage chat permission to post).
Posting
Post update captures a Title and Message, then:
  • Audience — Everyone, a Team, an Access profile, or a Smart group (the same self-maintaining audiences as chat).
  • Required read"Collect per-person confirmations; silence is chased."
  • Pin to top, attachments, and a poll (one option per line).
  • Publish now or Scheduled for later, with an optional Repeat (Daily / Weekly / Monthly) and an end date.
Required-read and confirmations
For anything that must be seen — a safety notice, a policy change — turn on Required read. Each recipient gets a Confirm read button, and the card tracks progress ("3/12 confirmed", "5/12 viewed"). Tap the count to see exactly who's viewed and who's confirmed.
And it chases itself: 24 hours after publishing, anyone who hasn't confirmed gets a "Please confirm: {title}" nudge — you don't have to hound people, and there's an audit trail of who acknowledged what.
Engagement
Depending on how you set the update, people can react, comment and vote on a poll. You can Pin/Unpin and Archive updates as they age out, and save your best ones as templates to reuse.
Tip: reach for Required read sparingly — it's for the things that genuinely need a signature. Overuse it and confirmations become noise; use it for safety and policy and the acknowledgement trail stays meaningful.
