Can't sign in
Codes that don't arrive, codes that don't work, and invite codes that are refused — and what fixes each.

The code never arrives
- Check the number — the "Enter code" screen shows exactly what we texted. Wrong? Use a different number.
- Check the country code — the picker defaults to United Kingdom (+44). Type your number naturally (07700 900123 works); for a country not in the picker, type the full number with a leading +.
- Check your connection — "No internet connection. Check your connection and try again." means the request never left your phone.
- Wait a minute, then resend — SMS delivery can lag. If you've requested several codes quickly, delivery may be throttled for a short while; give it a few minutes before trying again.
"Request a new code before trying again"
A wrong or expired code shows this and returns you to the start. Codes are short-lived, so:
- Tap Send code again and use the newest text — old codes die the moment a new one is issued.
- Type it exactly; it's the 6-digit number in the message.
If verification fails another way, you'll see "Could not verify the code. Try again." — just retry.
My invite code is refused
After verifying your phone you may see:
"We could not find a workspace invite for this phone number. If you were invited, ask your workspace admin to resend the invite. If you are setting up Maliru for your company, create a company instead."
Three usual causes, all fixed by your admin:
- The invite was made for a different number — the code only works with the exact phone number the admin entered. Ask them to check it.
- The code expired — invite codes last 14 days. Ask for a New code (issued from your record's Invite section).
- The code was already used — codes work once. If you signed in previously, just sign in normally; the invite step won't appear again.
"Your sign-in session expired. Try again."
The session behind your sign-in lapsed mid-flow. Start again from the phone number — it'll be quick the second time.
Still stuck?
If you can reach any Maliru workspace on another device, use Talk to support in the top bar. Otherwise email us — and tell us the exact message you see, and the last four digits of the phone number you're trying.
