Signing in to Maliru
No passwords — you sign in with your phone number and a one-time SMS code.

Maliru has no passwords to forget. Your phone number is your identity, verified by a text message each time.
The three steps
- Welcome — pick your country code (UK is the default; Ireland, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are listed) and enter your phone number. "We will text you a secure one-time code." Tap Send code. You can type your number naturally — 07700 900123 or +447700900123 both work.
- Enter code — type the SMS code and tap Continue.
- That's it — your workspace opens. If you belong to several companies, the last one you used opens; switch from the account menu.
Joining for the first time
If your phone number isn't part of a workspace yet, you'll see Almost there: "You are new here — enter the invite code from your admin to join." Type the invite code your admin gave you (it looks like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and tap Continue.
Invite codes work once and expire after 14 days — if yours doesn't work, ask your admin to issue a new one.
Some workspaces also share a join link or a QR poster instead. Those take you through the same phone verification, then a short details form — an administrator approves your request before you can sign in.
Setting up a brand-new company?
If you're not joining an existing workspace but creating one for your company, use Create a company at the bottom of the Welcome screen — see Creating your workspace.
If the code doesn't come
- Check the number on the Enter code screen is right; Use a different number takes you back.
- Codes expire quickly — if it's been a few minutes, request a fresh one. After a wrong or expired code, the app sends you back to request a new code before trying again.
- No signal or Wi-Fi? You'll see "No internet connection. Check your connection and try again."
